Intro to Cake Decorating

Class Description

In this 3 hour class, you’ll learn to split and fill a cake, crumb-coat so you have a smooth canvas to decorate, and several decorating techniques using icing tips, including frosting and writing on a birthday cake! Leave with a fully decorated cake, a box to take it home in and a couple piping tips so you can practice and show your skills off at home!

Age requirement: 12yrs +

Refund Policy: Due to the cost and time to prep food, cancelations without 24hr notice of class or no shows will not be refunded.

Nancy Lee - Corner House Treats

I started baking with my cousin around age 8, and made the Stars & Stripes cake every year for my parents’ annual July 4 Block Party! I started learning to truly decorate cakes in 1990, and have been doing so ever since – including making my own wedding and groom’s cakes! Combine this with a degree in Education, and you can guess that I love teaching, baking and decorating! I am a Cottage baker: A cottage baker is a baker that runs their entire business from their home. From the baking to the packaging, all of it is done in home. To do this, Nebraska requires a certification and the passing of a food safety class, both of which I have accomplished. I am allowed to bake items in my home and sell the directly to the customer.
